7 things My future Knight in Shining Armour should know

Ladies, we all have that image of a man who would be the one and only!  Even if, we have had a bad relationship, even if, things haven't worked out, keep dreaming. If you have already found one, Hold on to him.

BlogAdda asks me about the promises my man should make me on this Women's day.

Let me picture someone, so that my imagination gets flowing.

My future knight in shining armour! Someone like, McDreamy!

If you are reading this, here it is.

Promises are meant to be broken, they say. So, I may not want  you to really promise me or say things out loud.  But, there are things I would want you to promise yourself or feel these things for me and you...

1.  Looking into my eyes

Please, please, look into my eyes when you say something romantic or something important or just look into my eyes like that. ;-)

2. Propose

Well, we always have discussions and arguments over who should propose? or Is proposal even necessary? I am a hopeless romantic and if you are serious, please propose.

"I love you, April. I always have. I love everything about you. Even the things I don't like, I love.  And I want you with me. I love you, and I think that you love me too. Do you?"

3. Smile

I just love your smile.. Really! So, smile.. Sometimes, blush too!

McDreamy, your smile makes me go weak in the knees. And those blushy eyes! Umm..

4.  Accept mistakes

Mistakes do happen, and it wouldn't hurt, if you would accept them.  Just don't repeat them. Yes, it applies to me too.

"I'm a human being. I make mistakes. I'm flawed, we all are."

5. Say it

There may be times when you need to say it out loud. Even if it is obvious, even if I should understand, even if there isn't any need, Just say it. Hearing, I love you, isn't going to get old, ever.

"If you love someone you tell them. Even if you're scared that it's not the right thing. Even if you're scared it'll cause problems. Even, if you're scared that it will burn your life to the ground. You say it. You say it loud."

6. Make it work

For a strong relationship, we both have to work hard. It is not going to be easy. But we do not give up. We will make it work.

"There comes a point where it all becomes too much. When we get too tired to fight anymore. So we give up. That's when the real work begins."

7. True Love

that's asking for, a bit too much, ain't I?

"I love you, and I'm not going to stop loving you. Meredith, I can't live without you."

Keep Thinking! Keep Dreaming! McDreamy is on the way!

5 things we do in a Girls' nightout!

Me and every girl out there, feels excited about a girls' night out!!

It may not be a very different thing other than the usual stuff we normally do in the day.. But girls' night out, gets all of us interested.

Having a whole night for ourselves in our comfy pajamas!
The freedom and friendship we share!

It may not necessarily be outrageous but it's still something that rejuvenates us.

1. Chatting our heart out

Yes. We are really talkative and have loads to share to each other. Things which we couldn't share on chat or call. Things we were holding to share in person to see each other's reaction.
Things we just want to let go off our systems.
Things we just couldn't share and tell anybody other than the gang.

2. Play games

Playing games like cards, truth or some interesting ones or missing the old days ones like ludo. We also want to concentrate on some other things and play.
Then, there is a girl in the group who will be a whiner, if she loses.  Sometimes there can be silly fights. Yet, it's all in the fun. We have something to laugh about it later.

3.  Advice sessions

When we know one of us needs a group advice where in all the others be on one side and show different point of views we have. There are arguments, tears, hugs, long discussions. These talks help make the big decision of one's life. It may not end up being what the girls wanted, always. Yet, it helps in understanding what you really want despite of all the other stuff.

4. Eat

Since, we are up almost till the wee hours of the morning and dinner was quite a longtime ago.
There is some munching going on. It could be snacks, parathas, cakes and sometimes soft/hard drinks too, if you are celebrating. You keep yourself full to keep the energy going.

5. Catching on latest gossips

It's not necessarily intended, around our conversations we may remember something and say things like 'Did you hear? ', 'you know what?', etc. Then the ball gets rolling and recent news comes up. It fisses out easily though, yet, you may come across about a thing or two of which/whom you had completely no idea!

Well it's not that, these aren't the things we usually won't do. It's just that all of it happens together, and it is really special to have the girls around. Knowing that someone cares always helps. They will be by your side no matter what and kick your ass when you need it!

Love you girls!

Lasting impressions

I was wondering who is #madeofgreat?
Made of great, is a person who left a lasting impression upon us, out of the hundreds of people we meet everyday, during the course of our life.

There have been many people with whom, I have spent some amazing moments, that have inspired me, encouraged me and made me think he/she is great. While pondering on who would be that #madeofgreat I thought about my 9th standard science teacher Tanu Miss, my own mother, Lavanya, my first mentor at the start of my career and was just scrolling my life over the people and incidents that impacted my life.

For me #madeofgreat is my 3rd standard class teacher Mrs.Mendes. A lady with saggy skin and wrinkles due to her age. Her hair cut short till her shoulders. Her small eyes. The vivid memories I have of her take me to the moment, when I was just a little girl, my small hands, wearing school uniform, sitting on the marble floor in the classroom while other students on the bench, over a huge chart paper, greater than my size and writing with Mrs.Mendes, alongside me.

Our school had recently introduced a policy of writing in print letters rather than cursive. Many students could not pick it up too quickly. I was the one who got acquainted to print writing easily and believe it or not, at that age, my handwriting was the best among my classmates or so Mrs. Mendes thought .
That is why, she chose me to write, a privilege, as the chart used to be displayed in the school lobby, where whole school could have a look at what 3rd A students presented.

Now, coming back to the moment I remember. I was writing very dedicatedly (privileged by the opportunity) where I was given a PEN to write. Writing with a pen was also new to us, because till second standard we used pencil. I was trying hard not to make any spelling mistakes as I knew the white eraser couldn't hide my mistakes. This would mean, I would have to strike a word off, which would have made the chart look dirty. But while writing, I did an error and I was too embarrassed and frightened by the rage, I may have to face now.

I told Mendes Miss I committed a spelling mistake and I will have to strike it out. Instead of shouting at me, she said,' it was alright' and she did something which I couldn't have guessed, ever. She brought a round blue colour thin thing to my notice and carefully started rubbing off my mistake. I could see the ink vanishing, although it left a blue tinge on the paper. It was an ink eraser! Who knew?

I was damn impressed by this new invention, which I saw. Also, I was thankful to Mrs.Mendes who didn't shout and politely rubbed off my other two mistakes, later again. After we finished, she showed the chart to whole class and put it on the school board with the help of those round pins. She even asked me, to mention my name at bottom. Few other teachers who noticed it, appreciated my job.

Now, I don't know exactly what was great in her. The invention she introduced me to, her kindness or her motivation but she left a lasting impression on me.

She became my favorite teacher and I her favorite student I guess. We also performed to a fairy dance wearing a white frock with layers, silver lining, silver wings, with a fairy wand in our hands on our annual day. She choreographed it and had selected that dress.

I remember I wrote my first Diwali card for her, with lotuses drawn on it because I could draw only a lotus properly. I wrote some message and gave the card to her and wished her Happy Diwali. We went to 4th standard and got a new teacher, new classroom. I used to watch her and wish her good morning whenever we came across each other whether in the lobby or staircase. But soon, she left school. I don't know where she is and how she is right now. But, she helped me build my confidence to a great extent. I remember I scored my career best 93℅ during my third standard itself. A great lady and my salute to her!

You might be thinking where did I come across #madeforgreat. I did when I visited  http://madeofgreat.tatamotors.com.

Lionel Messi has associated with Tata Motors. You probably must have already seen the advertisement.
"What do you think of Tata Motors' association with Lionel Messi?"

Romance

Romance..

This word itself, lights one up.

Lucky are the ones who get to experience that!

I am not an envious person in daily life, although, when I see a romantic gesture by some sweet guy for his girl, I feel a little bit of ' l want that!'.

Now, what's really romance ?

I am sure each individual will have their own definition. Be it the cliché  of candlelight dinner or the philosophical cooking and cleaning together.. Romance can be different for different people.

Some people say it with their eyes or gestures and some by their expressions and conversations.

I don't know why men or women sidetrack their romance.. It is as essential for a relationship as communication is.

Romance may have different meanings for different people but, just the thought of it, is amazing!

For all the lovely couples out there.. Don't let that romance go away from your lives!

Be it those sweet nothings, filmy dialogues, Little white lies or appreciatory notes..

Whatever it is which you like or your style is..

Keep that romance alive.

Say a little compliment to your partner or just pull their cheeks or kiss them on forehead once a while..

Take them for a drive or picnic or a surprise getaway.. Roses.. Lilies.. Reading a novel together or watching that new show on TLC..
Cycling together.. Or simply walking, hand in hand.. Feeling how lucky is to have that special person!

Showing love is really important.. Not always, will the idea of 'reading the eyes' work.

Don't take things for granted..

Enjoy it until it lasts.. Hope it lasts forever!

Small things.. Mood breakers - makers!

When we get upset on something or someone.. Be it bad news or things we didn't expect, happen.. These are the times when we go in the ' upset zone '. Nothing seems to rejoice us. No one seems to care. We need some kind words to cheer us up. But no one around, so close, to share, or whose words will have that effect.

We may overcome the biggest of shocks and bad news easily, but those small things.. Criticism or some other thing someone did, may affect us.

At that time, its not really others who can be of real help. Discussing it does lower the pain. At the end of it, it's our own mind whom we need to teach to overcome it. Forget that and move on. We know we will. Time is the best medicine and after a point that thing is irrelevant.
Yet, for those brief moments, maybe a single day, we have that thing bothering us at the back of our mind, spoiling our mood.

We try to gulp it in and make ourselves understand. Give a little pep talk or discuss with someone, just to get over it. How do some irrelevant things, which may not even matter to us, fill up our mind and get all the unnecessary attention?

How much ever we avoid, these things happen to one and all. Small things, take that smile down.. :( so small things, can also be the ones which can bring it back up :)

Be it listening to your favorite song, doing something what you like, a sweet compliment or just sleeping over it, makes us forget that little tiny thing which bothered us all day and we feel back to being me.

Funny! How some things become so important, for that frame of time.

Small things become large and doing other joyful small things make them tiny.

They may not go away completely. We learn our own way of dealing them, day to day.

Our mind's turmoil!

There are many times, when we feel things aren't going the way we want them to, we may self doubt ourselves or even start thinking, whether that's what is t for us.. whether we should just accept it.

We know, that, there is nothing in our hands and what has to happen will happen anyway. But  this feeling of helplessness and no control on our own life, makes us restless.

We keep going, work hard and try to the best of our abilities to make things happen, the way we would like. This feeling... doesn't leave us though. We keep wondering, how situations will turn or what we can do more to get it.

Sometimes, we just can't guess the answers. We fear the unfortunate and hope for the best. We may feel confused, hopeful, sad, happy, try to judge every situation as to whether it will lead to what we want or to the part, we don't even want to think about.

We may experience positive instances, sometimes, and be cheerfu,l while sometimes, be mystified and feel clueless. What has to happen will happen!
Yet, this turmoil of feelings, anxiety and excitement fills us up!

We don't know, if we should be optimistic or practical. We prepare ourselves for the worst, have a plan B and keep hoping for the best.

What has to happen will happen anyway!

All these thoughts, anxiety, excitement may seem worthless. Time...will give us answers.
Impatience.. Catches us.

All these thoughts, feelings although won't matter when the time comes..the result will decide how we will deal with the situation..

Yet, somehow these things what we feel are part of us. These... make us the 'person' we are.

What we care for, what we are passionate about, those things are going to be in our minds and we just can't help it.

So we shouldn't stop that. Just remember, believing in self, is what matters!

The result, whatever it turns out, we will accept and work our way with it. Dealing with the outcome will teach us many things, whether the result is positive or not.

We keep learning, keep believing and keep thinking!!

Dance Plus and Remo

It's Sunday again... me and mum spend the day watching Dance plus repeat episodes.

Dance plus, is really an amazing show with a format of teams and points. Semi final and showdown rounds in every show. We have the familiar faces: Raghav, shakti, dharmesh and remo. There is another mentor Sumit.. His work is very impressive.

There is no distinction of group, solo or duet and all perform to what they do best. Innovating their own style every time.

Remo D'souza: Pioneer of this show. I think he is a very genuine person. We saw him in DID and then he went on to direct ABCD and ABCD2. He judged Jhalak dikhlaja too, for some period and now he came up with this show with an amazing concept and atmosphere. We feel the positivity, while watching it. He encourages the participants. We have seen him work with the participants of DID. In ABCD there was salman, dharmesh, Raghav, jack, prince and so many others he has always supported and pushed. I see him living his dream.. The passion he has for dance and the importance he has bought to the table by his talent. He never lets things go out of hand or unfair. Sometimes, he even balances the score by giving an extra point, if he feels there is a less point from the mentor's side. There are times, when he takes those correct decisions when some contestant faces an injury or judgement on the toughest rounds, even when the same team is winning again. Justice prevails.

Competition with sportsmanship! Teams encouraging one another. Even other team mentors praising the competitor's contestant with what they deserve. Expressing your feelings in such a platform is very important and also is, expressing them right. All the judges do a splendid job, in the comments they give.

I used to watch Masterchef Australia and feel pleased, by the manner in which the judges and contestants encouraged the competition, in a healthy way. Keeping the passion alongwith innovation, every time. That thing, I see in this show too.

It's a show in which we see dance as a talent  with so much perfection and innovation. Opportunities to so many people who rightfully deserve it. Creativity at its best and the thirst for perfection. Some awesome performances may not get a perfect score, being true to judgement.

There is also creativity in which they promote their sponsors, amalgamation in the comments or in the cute cartoon characters they created for each contestant. It's so subtle. I applaud the creative team, for, they do a wonderful job.

Sometimes, Raghav just can't help himself but to dance. And it's breathtaking... Like it always has been. His work in DID juniors was also amazing,as a mentor himself. He is a full package with gags and his moves.

Overall an amazing show, the similar novelty I felt when DID started a few years back. It's so nice to see we humans encouraging each other and appreciation and entertainment. Their zeal to excel gives us 'awestruck' performances which we relish lying in our comfortable homes.

It's a good combination of entertainment, living the dreams; be it for remo, judges, participants, and opportunity to the well deserved. Kudos to the whole team of the show!

Reading Novels..

Novels..

I have been reading novels since a longtime now, and pretty often since past few weeks.

While travelling or during leisure time, it feels so good, to just tuck my head in and drift to another world.

I wanted to get rid of the touch screen phone and get hold of a book with actual pages. The touch of the pages, turning them and the smell of old/new book pages is just amazing!

I read a thriller,a bestseller and mills & boon books.. when the story unfolds.. the suspense of what happens next.. figuring out how the story unwinds.. living the lives of characters.

A book can make you feel the exact emotions and exhaust you with it too!

Some books may have everything from a protagonist point of view. While others, may show the point of view and background of all characters.

The way authors write and think.. Fiction.. as Reality.. is just breathtaking..!

Some or the other way we connect with the characters.. or try to compare.. Are we in some way or other, like that?

Reading novels lets you disconnect and connect to another world of imagination, emotions, characters.. It's like reading a dream.

Things they teach us.. and hope they generate!

The best part is connection.

The feelings we feel along with the characters. We empathise to them, sometimes feel pity or sad.
That feeling of feeling for fictional people, which the author brings, with his/her words goes to show us the strength of words. How, we, as human beings, can connect to the thoughts of strangers..!

Novels also become our mood lifters.. sometimes even diversions to our everyday worries.

It feels so fulfilling after we finish the book. I wonder how I didn't touch one for so many months!

Sometimes, the endings make us feel unsaturated, leave us with unanswered questions, later, we forget about it, just go to the next book. That's how life sometimes is, we may not get all the answers, but we keep writing and unfolding new chapters.

Keep Thinking!

Clothes...

Clothes.. Shopping.. Trends.. Fashion..

There was an instance in PK.. When he talks about how he finds it weird people wearing clothes and the definitions of male and female dresses.

Many men complain about the limited trends they have compared to women.. But also hesitate to try something new.

Stereotypes... Have always influenced our culture and society.

We can't imagine a guy wearing skirt but we have seen historic images of skirt type dresses for men and it's all normal in few European countries.

Pink.. Another stereotype.. Highly associated with girls was actually color for men and blue was for women as we have seen Cinderella wore a blue dress and not pink.

Clothes.. Not only they cover us up but also define our personality.

Sab mohmaya hai!!
But we be it men or women want to have lots of them.

I personally like to wear all kinds of dresses.. Sarees, chudidar, Kurtis, shorts, tops, trousers, shirts, 1 piece.. Just everything.

But while buying something there are two things.. 1st it should suit me and second, I  should feel myself. It should be a reflection of me. My various shades.

Well, also the value for cost!!

When we try something, we instantly know whether its for us or not. We feel happy and beautiful in it.  We think about its comfort and the occasions and places we could wear it.  With what top or bottom or accessory we will team it up. So many things we already think without realizing it.

There are people who over think it and take so much time to shop and even after buying it,  they may not be fully satisfied about it.

Many a times it does happen, we buy something which we like at that time but later don't even wear it more than once. When someone criticizes the piece of clothing, we throw it away from our eyes.

Clothes...

They do not define us.

It's we who define them and make them look better otherwise it is just a piece of cloth until, we wear it.
Feel good and comfortable in what you like to wear no matter what others say, it is you who is beautiful inside.

Fitness and Milind soman :*

Why I Run http://www.huffingtonpost.in/milind-soman/why-i-run_4_b_7869546.html

Milind soman who did a triathlon, many congratulations to you on this achievement!
Milind soman.. I love him. Adore him. My crush.. My McDreamy!!

I have always adored him since childhood. Of course, his looks... Oh so.. Charming.. Hot.. His face.. Body.. His voice.. The way he speaks!!!
I may not have seen all his movies. But 16 December and Rules pyar ka superhit formula are the two movies which I watch every time when they are running on TV just for him. To see him.. To hear his voice..

Watching him run in NDTV greenathon and Mumbai Marathon on TV.. Made me admire him even more.

In his blog, he talks about how liberating fitness is for him and I am glad he feels swimming, running and cycling are his ways to fitness rather then just the gym and building bulky bodies as the trend goes!

He also talks about how he does not like to be told things to do and rather feel on your own, be inspired and attracted to the right things on your own rather than being told.

Also the mental physical and spiritual balance which sports bring in our lives.

Cycling.. As I love it.. Always liberates me so I get it when he says what he means by liberating.
Its the open air... Motion.. Moving forward.. Which really frees you.. As if you are going ahead leaving all the things which hold you down...

That feeling of being on your own and carrying yourself... Being independent.. Sweating it out. Not polluting the air...  Its just amazing!

Fitness.. Be it by anyway.. Brings you closer to your own self. Knowing your own body and mind. Walk.. Run.. Swim.. Cycle.. Or yoga.. Don't pollute environment.

Keep thinking!! Keep fit.. Body, mind and soul. :)
